常用的工業(yè)爐窯主要有以下幾大類:熔煉爐、熔化爐、加熱爐、熱處理爐、熔煅燒爐(窯)、電弧爐、感應(yīng)爐(高溫冶煉)、煉焦爐、焚燒爐、其他工業(yè)爐窯。
工業(yè)窯爐按供熱方式分為兩類:一類是火焰窯爐(或稱燃料窯爐），用固體（常用的燃料有：煤炭、生物質(zhì)）、液體（重油、柴油、工業(yè)費油等）或氣體燃料（天然氣、液化氣等）在窯爐內(nèi)的燃燒熱量對工件進行加熱;*類是電窯爐，在窯爐內(nèi)將電能轉(zhuǎn)化為熱量進行加熱。
